Kick Ass Trailer sorta Kicks Ass

Below I have posted the new Red Band trailer for the upcoming Kick Ass movie due out in April 2010. Hey good thing I added the “2010″ right? Anyway I can’t make up my mind on whether this will be any good or not. I mean sure it looks like a fun movie with a ton of “kickass” scenes. But it’s also an eleven year old girl doing it. She has no powers (cleverly stated in the trailer) yet she goes through henchmen quicker than 3 day old Taco Bell goes through a fat kid named Ralph. Plus let’s not forget the Nic Cage factor. How does forehead boy keep getting roles? Seriously? Anyway check the out the trailer and let me know what you think.

Inglorious Basterds invade France

inglorious-basterds

According to Variety Tarantino’s new movie “Inglorious Basterds” is set to debut at Cannes Film Festival. Ha Cannes, sounds like it should be part of the Adult Video Awards. Heh. Anyway I digress.

The big deal about this movie is that it stars Brad Pitt and looks like it maybe actually be a good Tarantino movie. And let me say that would be a welcome change after his last…what 4 or 5 films?

Rob Liefeld's Youngblood to be a Movie

youngblood

What the hell man? Really what the hell? Comic book artist hack Rob Liefeld has had his book pile of shit picked up to become a movie. Don’t worry though because directer hack Brett Ratner will be polishing this turd for the big screen. This should make sure it sucks a REALLY BIG one.

The Indian media conglom has acquired Rob Liefeld’s iconic graphic novel “Youngblood” for Brett Ratner to direct.

The company paid mid six figures for the rights to “Youngblood,” about a superhero team sanctioned and overseen by the U.S. government.

“Most of the great graphic novels are gone, and ‘Youngblood’ is one of the few comicbooks left with tentpole potential,” Ratner told Daily Variety. “It was a real personal passion project for me, and a lot of people wanted (‘Youngblood’), but the amazing thing about the guys at Reliance is the speed with which they’re able to move.”

I’m sorry give me just a second because I think I read the studio paid Liefeld in mid six figures for the rights to Youngblood. *Cough* No my fault I did read that correctly. A studio did pay him half a million or more for that idea. Over half a million. For Youngblood. A Rob Liefeld idea. Over half a fucking million.

In a related story I just threw up.

Green Lantern Movie Gets a Director…Maybe

greenlantern_racist

According to the good folks at Variety, Warner Bros. is talking with Martin Campbell to direct a Green Lantern movie.

Campbell last directed “Casino Royale” and recently wrapped the Mel Gibson starrer “Edge of Darkness,” based on the 1985 BBC miniseries that Campbell helmed.

The emergence of Campbell, who also helmed two “Zorro” films and the 007 film “GoldenEye,” puts “Green Lantern” at the top of DC properties being set for movie treatment by WB.

Directing Casino Royale alone is enough reason for me to love Martin Campbell. But Marty has his work cut out for him with a Green Lantern movie. Instead of dealing with a swashbuckling Spanish Robin Hood or a charismatic, badass British secret agent, he has the Green Lantern. Freaking Green Lantern.

For those of your who don’t know the Green Lantern is a superhero from DC comics with a ring of power and a weakness for yellow. Yes you read that correctly. His weakness is the color yellow. He can be stopped with a highlighter, most road signs, bananas, etc. Get the idea now? So really what the hell? How do you take that seriously? Freakin’ yellow!

Oh yeah I almost forgot. The Green Lantern is also a racist.
