Marvel 70th Anniversary Set completed!

I will be the first to admit that I am late reporting this but whatever, as my friend Poe would say “Better late than pregnant.” Now onto the news.

As of mid January, I have completed and mailed off 150 sketch cards for the upcoming Marvel 70^th anniversary set. As I’ve said before working on the set was a real blast and I look forward to doing more cards in the future. Doing the cards also made me fall even deeper in love with my Copic markers.

I cannot stress enough how much Copic makers rock. You could create a band with Bono, Bowie, Hendrix, Zak Wylde, Jeff Beck, Cliff Burton, Keith Moon, and they wouldn’t rock as much as Copics do. I think mainly because 3 of them are dead so the other members of the band would be really freaked out. I mean Jesus man there would be 3 corpses on stage with them. How fucked up would that be? Sorry what was my point again? Oh yeah Copics rock!

"Tales of the Black Freighter" aka More Watchmen Crap

Ok so above we have a screenshot from the “The Black Freighter” and down below we have the trailer. What the hell is “The Black Freighter” you ask? Well lucky for you I know. Think of “The Black Freighter” as a story within the story of the Watchman. It was cut from the movie but Zack Snyder has decided to do an animated version of the tale that will be released on DVD on March 24.

It doesn’t look too bad. It has a Ninja Scroll vibe to me, but whatever. I still can’t believe how much news keeps coming out about this damn movie. Every 4…no wait…yeah every 3 seconds there is more news about it. Just come out already!

Rob Liefeld's Youngblood to be a Movie

What the hell man? Really what the hell? Comic book artist hack Rob Liefeld has had his book pile of shit picked up to become a movie. Don’t worry though because directer hack Brett Ratner will be polishing this turd for the big screen. This should make sure it sucks a REALLY BIG one.

The Indian media conglom has acquired Rob Liefeld’s iconic graphic novel “Youngblood” for Brett Ratner to direct.

The company paid mid six figures for the rights to “Youngblood,” about a superhero team sanctioned and overseen by the U.S. government.

“Most of the great graphic novels are gone, and ‘Youngblood’ is one of the few comicbooks left with tentpole potential,” Ratner told Daily Variety. “It was a real personal passion project for me, and a lot of people wanted (‘Youngblood’), but the amazing thing about the guys at Reliance is the speed with which they’re able to move.”

I’m sorry give me just a second because I think I read the studio paid Liefeld in mid six figures for the rights to Youngblood. *Cough* No my fault I did read that correctly. A studio did pay him half a million or more for that idea. Over half a million. For Youngblood. A Rob Liefeld idea. Over half a fucking million.

In a related story I just threw up.

New Watchmen Poster

I admit, I was looking forward to seeing the Watchmen movie. I was so excited. Wow one my favorite comics brought to life on the big screen. I know it will be awesome because its being directed by Zack Snyder! I was so very happy.

But then Fox steps in sues Warner Brox, over the rights for the film. Thus delaying the film to the point where people began to wonder if it would even be released. Sadly my happy went bye-bye. When I heard this I stamped my little fanboy feet and shook my little fanboy fists. As the weeks went on I said fuck it and lost interest. So if I am behind on the latest Watchmen news, too bad, because I still don’t care.

But now according to the above Watchmen movie poster the movie is finally being released 3-6-09. I know this is probably not news to most of you but again I must say I don’t really care. Besides you just don’t understand. I’m tired of this movie toying with my emotions. I’m not just some cheap thrill Watchmen movie! You can’t just play around with my emotions like this. Making promises and setting dates only to back out time and time again. You should be ashamed of yourself Watchmen Movie. Leave me alone Watchmen movie. Don’t touch me!
