Upcoming Headstatic Contest News!

Hey hey everyone! Although this will be a really short blog post it’s still worth reading. Why you ask? Simple…CONTEST TIME!

Next week I will be announcing all the cool details of my 2nd annual “Name my sketchbook contest!” I will also post the original illustration that will be awarded to the winner along with some other grand news. But in the meantime be sure to put on your thinking caps and give me a super clever awesome name because not only could you win an original illustration from yours truly but it could also make you famous.

Like really really famous.

Keeping with the headstatic tradition, whenever I don’t have any art to post, I resort to posting photos of my super secret celebrity girlfriend Scarlett Johansson. The photo above is of course from the upcoming Iron Man 2 film with hits theaters May 7th. Scarlett will be playing the role of the Black Widow, who is one of, if not my favorite Marvel femme fatale.*

Sketch Card Giveaway Contest Part 2

Ok guys and gals (rawr) it’s time for second installment of my Twitter sketch card giveaway contest! That’s right folks you have another chance to win a sketch card from yours truly. The last winner was located in Canada and received a nifty Elektra sketch card featured in this post.

Now I bet you are asking yourself “How the hell do I enter already?” Ok ok chill out or hold your horses or cool your jets or whatever it is you need to do to calm down. The instructions are listed below and are so easy it’s ridiculous. Ridiculous I say!

1. Login into Twitter (if you don’t have an account…well get one…duh)

Figure Drawing, Contest, & You

Greetings all, just thought I would drop in and upload a few sketches and studies. First up is a sketchbook doodle of a witch I did last night whilst (that’s right I said whilst) watching the History channel. I was going to make a joke and say it was an artistic interpretation of my gal with PMS, but wisely thought better of it. Or did I? Muwhahahahaha!

The other drawings below are studies from my figure drawing session at the Charlotte Art League over the weekend. I’m doing my best to do as much figure drawing as I can lately, because I’ve noticed that my confidence has been growing as a result. I’m a firm believer that confidence is one of the most important attributes that an artist can possess because if you approach a piece in a timid uncertain manner, the piece will reflect it.

I’m also a firm believer that everyone reading this should subscribe right now to this blog. You see one of the other most important things an artist can have is fans. Lots and lots of fans, preferably hot busty fans with lots of money.

Sketch Card Giveaway Contest

Call the neighbors and wake the kids everyone because I have big news! I hope everyone is sitting down because to say that this is earth shattering would be an understatement. Over the next 3 weeks I will be giving away a sketch card drawn, inked and colored by yours truly! That’s right each week you will have a chance to win a sketch card.

Now I’m sure have a ton of questions, like how to enter, where to enter, why would I do this or how I maintain my silky smooth hair. Don’t worry I’ve got you covered. See the contest rules and sordid details below.

Why are you doing this?

Because I love you. I really love you. Its not for shameless promotion like others would have you believe. Its all for love.

How do I enter?

Its really super simple easy. Simply follow me on Twitter and tweet @manji675 I WANT THAT SKETCH CARD! Be sure to both follow me and tweet that phrase.

How is the winner selected?

After one week I will take names of all my followers who entered and randomly select a name from my magic hat of delight. The winner will then receive a direct message from me on Twitter. I will ask for their shipping information and if they are always this lucky.

Anything else I need to know?

That is really it. See I told you it was really super simple easy. Blue Line Pro Charity Sketchcards for Cancer

I feel really bad for not posting this sooner because it would’ve been good for some of you guys to jump on board for this but I didn’t so I suck. I know. I’ve heard it all before. But recently this means a even more to me because my mom had a recent battle with cancer and now my dad may have lung cancer. I should find for sure later today.

Above are the 4 sketch cards I did for Blueline’s upcoming auction for Cancer. Just did 4 basic headshots so yeah I did cheese out there (I suck remember) but all in all I like the way these cards turned out. I know that in the grand scheme of things doing a sketch card is just a drop in the bucket but at least its a drop in the bucket. You know what I mean?
