Where the Wild Things Are Poster

I meant to post this last week. And when I say “I meant to” I mean I thought I did. And when I say “I thought I did” I mean I’m a fucking idiot who thought he did something he didn’t do. So my apologies.

Anyway up top is the poster and like everything else I have been seeing for this movie it looks great. I really love the muted color schemes and overall look of this so far. Rock on Spike Jonze. Rock on.

ScarJo Where'd You Go?

 

There hasn’t been a lot to say or talk about lately. So when in doubt I either talk about how boring awesome my life is or I post pics of Scarlett Johansson. So imagine my dismay when I saw that my precious Scarlett is becoming really frikkin’ skinny. What the hell? She looks like a booble-head, her boobs are shriking and she’s getting zombie knees. Dammit this sucks!

So why on earth is this happening? Apparently, she is on a super strict diet for her role as Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

Sultry Scarlett Johansson is getting rid of her famous curves! Eyes popped Tuesday night at Moet & Chandon’s “Tribute to Film” soiree at London’s Big Sky Studios when the “very slim” actress strutted in wearing a tight, black minidress.

I suppose this is a prime example of be careful for what you wish for because ScarJo playing Black Widow was pretty fucking high on my wishlist. But then again I never thought they would make her look like a zombie for the part. I’m still trying to understand why they thought she was fat.

I know those jackasses didn’t present it to her that way. Those hollywood morons probably used terms like “tone up” or “different look”, which or course are just euphemisms for “lose weight fattie”. But the point is she was fine! She wasn’t fat! At all! What the fuck? I suppose in two more weeks she’ll look like a Holocaust survivor victim. Anyway below are some pictures to show how “fat” she used to be compared to now.

"Where the Wild Things Are" Trailer

Above is a debut trailer for “Where the Wild Things are”. It look pretty damn cool and I hope that Spike Jonze (the director) was able to carry through with his vision with studio intervention. Judging by the trailer it looks promising that he was able to.

Natalie Portman cast in Thor?

According to the folks at deadline Hollywood, Natalie Portman has signed on as the female lead in Thor.

…there’s a big push to cast Josh Hartnett either in the winged helmet and/or as nemesis Loki…

…besides Hartnett, the following actors are being tested: Charlie Hunnam (the British co-star of the F/X series Sons Of Anarchy); Tom Hiddleston (award-winning British actor and RADA graduate who played Winston Churchill’s son in HBO’s The Gathering Storm), Alexandar Skarsgard (Stellan’s son who has appeared in the HBO Iraq War miniseries Generation Kill and vampire drama True Blood, and who’s definitely visually right for the role), Liam Hemsworth (offered a significant role in The Expendables after Sly Stallone saw his tape), and Joel Kinnaman (some Swedish-American dude).

Meanwhile, I’m told Natalie Portman is in the lead for the female lead.

This Thor movie is really starting to piss me off. I don’t give a rat’s ass about Thor. If you came up to me asking for the ass of a rat I would say sure. But if you told me that the rat’s ass was for Thor I would say no way. That’s how I feel about Thor.

Yet this movie has Kenneth Branagh as the director. I love Kenneth Branagh. I would give him a rat’s ass in a second.

Now I hear Natalie Portman has been cast! My sweet Natalie. So pretty.

But this still doesn’t mean this movie won’t suck. Even though Kenneth Branagh rocks and Portman is beautiful and talented this is Thor we’re talking about. Plus Kenneth Branagh and Portman don’t have the best of track records. Let’s not forget about Branagh’s Frankenstein and the last Star Wars movies.

Sci-Fi channel changes name

So the Sci-Fi channel is changing their name to SYFY and here is their bullshit reasoning.

By changing the name to Syfy, which remains phonetically identical, the new brand broadens perceptions and embraces a wider range of current and future imagination-based entertainment beyond just the traditional sci-fi genre, including fantasy, supernatural, paranormal, reality, mystery, action and adventure. It also positions the brand for future growth by creating an ownable trademark that can travel easily with consumers across new media and nonlinear digital platforms, new international channels and extend into new business ventures.

Yeah that makes perfect sense. In case you don’t want to read that babble here is what he basically said.

We want to broaden our audience so we are going to spell our name differently. Oh and the spelling is really stupid but is easier to text. Yeah that’s right it sounds the same, but now it looks different. So well you know, that is uh…cooler. I think.

Wow you’re probably thinking about all the possiblities this channel has to offer now huh? I know my mom will start watching now.

Of course I suppose it was better than the names I would’ve changed it to. What’s that you want to hear mine? Great! Because here is my list.
