Merry Christmas from Harley Quinn
Merry Christmas everyone! Above is a piece I did for a forum I frequent and I thought it would also make a good holiday piece to ring in Christmas. I have never drawn Harley Quinn before and overall I’m happy with this piece. There is still a lot of rendering to go but I’m calling it done for now because I have a few other projects on the horizon that I need to complete.
Just to let everyone know I’ll be kicking off the new year with a contest and there are two commissions that I’m sending out very soon to two very special fans. I appreciate your patience and I’m sure you will find it worth your wait.
I guess that does it for this post. Until next time loyal readers.

Iron Man 2 Trailer = Nerd Boner time
Well I may say nerd boner time but it’s also “Holy Shit! Scarlett Johansson is Black Widow!” boner time. I just had to post this because it’s a culmination of my some of my favorite things. Those things of course being comic book characters (namely Iron Man and my fav Marvel Fem Fatale Black Widow), Mickey Rourke, and of course Scarlett Johansson.
Just to give everyone a heads up when this movie opens May 7th 2010, there is a very good chance I could be dead from a heart attack/nerdgasm on May 8th. If you don’t believe just watch the trailer below, just make sure that your sitting down.

Ms Marvel Sketch
Hey guys. I’ve been really busy with the sketch cards that I’m doing for the Marvel 70th anniversary. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to show any of my cards yet but soon…yes soon. Muwahahahahaha.
In the meantime here is a quick 30 minute speedpaint of Ms Marvel. I may come back and finish this sometime but probably no time soon. I have to admit though after doing 60+ sketches in traditional medium (copics, ink etc) going back to digital felt weird.

Site redesign and Big News Check it out
Hello Hello HELLO.
I’m back bitches.
[Ric Flair]
WHooooooo!
Stylin’ and profilin’ and looking how I can look. Whooooooo!
[/Ric Flair]
How the hell is everyone? Yeah that’s great, whatever. Let’s talk about me now. Shall we?
As I’m sure you have noticed by now the site has a new look and was designed to make stalking me that much easier. Oh and I encourage you to stalk me via Twitter, subscribing to the feed to this blog or whatever other method you can cook up. Well, except for lurking around the outside of my house wearing a stealth suit made of shrubs and discarded cheeseburger wrappers. That would just be weird for the both of us and no don’t ask me how I know that.
But I digress.
I have some huge announcements to make so be sure to call the neighbors and wake the kids and be sure everyone sitting down.
Ok ready? Good.
I have been selected to do sketch cards for the upcoming Marvel 70th anniversary card set! I know awesome right? I know I know that some of you think that it’s almost slave labor doing the sketch cards but I don’t consider 25 bucks a card that bad.
Heh I just screwin’ with you.
I’m not really getting 25 dollars a card but I do look at it as a great opportunity. It seems to have been working out pretty good for Cat Staggs so I’m hoping for the best. Anyway I signed up to do 150 cards by January, so time to break out the copics and microns and get to work. A friend of mine Keith O’Malley (who is just an urban legend to some) has done several sets and has given me some great advice. Well actually his advice wasn’t all that great. Hmmm…come to think of it I don’t even think it was advice. He just said he loved men named Wyatt.
Anyway so that’s great news and…AND…I may start teaching a figure drawing class at the Charlotte Art League! Yeah I don’t think the Art League has really thought that through either but I’m still meeting with them tomorrow morning to discuss it and suss out any details. I will be sure to announce their decision here but if you up to minute updates hit me up on Twitter.
Finally I would just like to say thank you to everyone for your support during the recent tumultuous episodes in my life. I assure that everything is getting back on track (finally) and I am officially back to making regular blog posts, just like in the good ol’ days.
Oh I also have a few other cool projects on the horizon and I will be announcing those on Monday. I think that about does it for this post and again I apologize for the lack of content over the last few weeks but I’m sure you guys understand why.
Now to keep with tradition of this amazing blog, whenever I don’t have a relevant image to post I post a picture of the lovely Scarlett Johansson and Scarlett I know you had nothing to do with those cease and desist letters. Those meddlesome attorneys just don’t understand our love.

Overdue blog post time
Remember when I said I would be back on a regular schedule and things would be back to normal around here very very soon? Of course you don’t! Because its been so long since my last post! I swear people I don’t know how much more crap is going to fall into my life but if it doesn’t let up soon then…I’ll…uh…aw hell I had something clever to say. I think. Maybe. Oh screw it onto the updates.
Ok so my mom was released from the hospital yesterday. The surgery was a success and they are still deciding on how much chemotherapy will be needed if any. For those of you just now finding out about this my mom had colon cancer and the tumor was the size of an orange. Fun. But as I said the doctors are expecting a full recovery, which is of course great news. Needless to say that was taking a ton of my time and stressing me out but at least things are working out and are now starting to look up.
So that is the big issue that has been going on in my personal life, but don’t think I haven’t been drawing during this time. I will be the first to admit I haven’t done anything of any major significance but I have been filling up sketchbook pages like crazy and..uh…wait. Did I just say “like crazy“? WTF? Here I am Mr. Artsy Fartsy and the best simile I can come up with for a prolific surge of creativity during an emotive exploration of a tumultuous time in my life through my mind’s eye is… “like crazy.” Nice. Really nice.
Anyway I have a bunch of sketchbook pages that I will be posting over the next few days. I just have to take the time to scan them. I hope all of you (yes all 8 of you) will enjoy them because I have been playing around with a new approach to drawing and sketching. I have really been trying to slow down and take my time trying to capture each subtle nuance with a single flowing line.
Oh did I mention that a lot of the sketchbook pages will have boobs and robots? I didn’t? Well then I should mention that a lot of my new sketchbook pages will have boobs and robots. I just wanted make sure you were still with me and I wasn’t boring you with all this artistic expression crap. Don’t get me wrong I love the beauty of a clean illustration and I could go on and on about it. But boobs and robots is why you’re here and I aim to please.
I will be posting that as well as a couple of other surprises over the next couple days so be sure to check back in with me or better yet just subscribe to this blog. You will find that this blog will not only bring joy to your life but it will also bring joy to those around you.
Now to follow the tradition of this blog whenever I don’t have any art to post I post a picture of my super #1 crush Scarlett Johansson.
See you on the other side whatever that means.
