Hate the break up the fun of the 2008 Best and Worst of list but I read last night that Andrew Wyeth passed away yesterday at the age of 91. If you don’t know who Andrew Wyeth is you should shut you face in a car door then look him up. He was one of the most brilliant painters of our time ever.
Instead of going on and on about how brilliant he was, I am going to supply you with this great article from the Washington Post and a few pictures of his work. Everyone should recognize the first painting below – Christina’s World. Christina’s World has (unfortunately) became the obligatory Wyeth piece but my favorite is probably The Witching Hour pictured above and below.
I’ll miss you Mr. Wyeth.
